Roscrea Golf Club

"Set at the foot of a Norman settlement"

Founded in 1892, Roscrea Golf Club's greens have been acclaimed by amateur and professional alike as being of the highest quality.

Nestled in the shadows of the Slieve Bloom Mountains in the geographical centre of Ireland, Roscrea Golf Club, one of Ireland's oldest, was founded in 1892 and is the only Golf Course in Ireland with direct access off the main Dublin/Limerick (N7) Road.

Situated on the Dublin side of Roscrea this course was originally designed as a nine hole parkland course, however, following the purchase of a further 40 acres of land in 1991, Kerry's Dr Arthur Spring was commissioned to design a new 18 hole course of championship standard.  This he did to perfection with the inclusion of sand based greens built to American approved standards.  Roscrea's greens have been acclaimed by amateur and professional alike as being of the highest quality.

The Course

The golf course opens up with a  short ubt testing par 4. Out of bounds to the left leaves you on the main Dublin Road. Driver off the tee leaves you closer to the green leaving you to negotiate an undulating green gaurded at the front by a deep bunker just waiting to catch your approach shot in.
